Soon, Orlando will receive a significant addition to its theme park scene: EPIC Universe.

The fourth park of Universal Orlando Resort is set to open in 2025. The project, initially scheduled for 2023, had its timeline adjusted due to construction pauses in 2020 caused by the pandemic. However, since March 2021, construction has been in full swing, promising an experience that will revolutionize entertainment in amusement parks.

Strategic location and gigantic area

Located just over 10 minutes by car from the current Universal complex, at the intersection of Kirkman Road and Universal Blvd, EPIC Universe is a colossal undertaking that will cover an area of over 3 million square meters.

For comparison, this is seven times larger than Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Besides its gigantic proportions, the park will feature four distinct themed areas, providing a diversity of experiences for visitors.

Possible attractions: Nintendo and much more

One of the confirmed areas is the highly anticipated Super Nintendo World, inspired by Nintendo’s popular video games. Imagine yourself immersed in a real-life video game, where you not only play but live the adventure.

There are also speculations about the inclusion of a Donkey Kong area. The other areas remain shrouded in mystery, but drone images suggest the possible presence of universes like “How to Train Your Dragon” and even an expansion of the magical world of Harry Potter.

To accommodate visitors, Universal plans to add three new hotels to EPIC Universe: Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Universal Stella Nova Resort, and Universal Terra Luna Resort.

This expansion will not only increase accommodation options but is also part of Universal’s strategy to extend the time guests spend at Universal Orlando Resort, encouraging them to explore all areas of the theme parks.
