July 14, 2024

As a true fan of Orlando’s theme parks, you probably already know that next year Universal Studios will open the doors to Epic Universe, its new theme park in Orlando.

Among the five thematic areas, Dark Universe stands out, a section entirely dedicated to Universal’s classic monsters.

Inspired by iconic horror figures, this area promises to immerse visitors in a dark and fascinating atmosphere, filled with adventures, attractions, themed shops, and restaurants.

We’ve gathered all the freshly released news for you to explore what Dark Universe has to offer!

Entrance to a Monstrous World

The journey through Dark Universe begins by crossing a portal surrounded by the roots of a dead tree and a purple energy tower, symbolizing the eternal struggle between science and death.

This macabre setting transports visitors to Darkmoor, a devastated village inhabited by monsters and their creators. The dark energy of Darkmoor pulses through the village and connects to the top of the imposing Frankenstein Manor, the central point of the area.

Incredible, isn’t it? Now let’s learn a little more about the main attractions of Orlando’s most anticipated park.

Main attractions of the Dark Universe area

Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

The main attraction of Dark Universe is the simulator Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

Here, visitors are taken to the depths of the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the great-granddaughter of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein, conducts her experiments.

During the visit to her laboratory, Dr. Victoria’s plans fail, releasing monsters like Dracula, the Werewolf, the Mummy, and the Phantom of the Opera.

This attraction promises to be one of the most chilling in Orlando.

Curse of the Werewolf

Another thrilling attraction is the spinning roller coaster Curse of the Werewolf. Located in the depths of the Darkmoor woods, this roller coaster takes visitors on a frenetic race to escape from werewolves.

Inspired by the classic “The Wolf Man,” the attraction is perfect for the whole family, offering an exciting and adrenaline-filled experience.

Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience

For makeup and characterization lovers, the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience offers the opportunity to transform into your favorite monster.

Visitors of all ages can have elaborate face painting and temporary tattoos, making the experience in the Dark Universe even more immersive.

Meet the Monsters

Meetings with iconic characters are an attraction in their own right in the Dark Universe.

Visitors can meet and interact with famous monsters like Frankenstein’s Monster, his bride, Dracula, and the servant Ygor.

These encounters provide memorable moments and incredible photos.

Das Stakehaus

Das Stakehaus is a sinister restaurant run by vampires, where visitors can enjoy dishes like kebabs and burgers while surrounded by artifacts and artwork that tell the story of creatures of the night.

The Burning Blade Tavern

In The Burning Blade Tavern, an old mill transformed into a tavern, visitors can enjoy burgers, chicken wings, and special drinks.

Every 20 minutes, the mill simulates a fire, providing an impressive visual spectacle.

De Lacey’s Cottage

For those who prefer quick snacks, De Lacey’s Cottage, located near Frankenstein Manor, offers a variety of treats like cinnamon bread, ice creams, and twisted potatoes.

Themed Shops

The shops of the Dark Universe are a spectacle in themselves, offering a wide range of themed products.

Among them, Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities stands out, where visitors can buy souvenirs and commemorative items that capture the essence of the Dark Universe.
