7 tips for children’s comfort on a trip to Orlando

March 5, 2020

Traveling with young children is not an easy task, especially if it is a long trip, but with some tips you can organize your vacation without stress and with maximum comfort for the little ones, which will also reflect on your comfort during the trip.
Surely vacationing at Disney parks is the dream of every child, or most at least. An important point is that there is no right age for the first trip to Mickey’s land, very young children may not understand and even remember later, just as older children already understand that it is all make-believe and there is not so much enchantment. So for the trip to be a success and unforgettable, we have separated some tips for various ages of children that will help a lot in your travel organization to Orlando.

1 – Search about attractions
First, research about the parks you will visit and the attractions they have, assessing those that are appropriate for your child’s age and height. Create a list of the places and attractions they can go to and separate some pictures of those places.

2 – Prepare your child
Getting the child into the atmosphere of the Disney universe is very important. Show the photos you have separated from the parks they will visit and the rides suitable for them. If the flight will be long with airplane changes and/or long waiting times at the airports, try to explain this situation to the child.
Explain that the trip will be a little tedious for her, but it will be very worth it when they arrive in Orlando. Explain that there will be some attractions that they will not be able to participate due to age/height, but that when they get older you can go back there.

3 – Identify the children
An indispensable care is the identification of children. Child’s name, parent’s name, parent’s phone number and child’s language are important items to put on the identification which can be a bracelet or badge. When you arrive at the parks, tell your child that if you lose sight of the family, you can go to the nearest employee he finds and show his identification, without having to panic or cry. Of course, if the child gets lost they will be scared, but having previous guidance will be easier.

4 – Wear suitable clothes
Before leaving home, look at the weather forecast to get a sense of how the day will behave. Dress the children in comfortable clothes and take a cardigan in the backpack for the time to go, it is also interesting to take extra clothes, as unforeseen events can occur and the child gets dirty or gets wet.
Try to use colors that facilitate the identification of the child in the crowd. The costumes are also very welcome and will make the tour much more fun. But the comfort rule still applies, dress up in costumes only if it is light and comfortable for the child.

5 – Enjoy the Baby Care Center
For parents who are traveling with toddlers or very young children, a great resource found in Disney parks is the Baby Care Center, which are places with changing tables, cribs, breastfeeding chairs, some kitchen items and even a small shop that sells products like diapers and baby food. The use of this place is free and be sure to use it if you are with your baby.

6 – Snacks in the parks
Children are a little impatient and getting in line and moving around often to buy a snack and water can be very tiring. So the ideal is to take with you some basic items that can be purchased at the supermarket, such as cookies, fruits, water, juice, etc. Put everything in a thermal bag and it will be a guarantee of ease on your ride in addition to savings, since food is usually a little expensive inside the parks. Leave the move around to the main meals, like lunch and dinner.

7 – Having a stroller
We do not recommend that you rent the stroller directly in the park, as these strollers are usually very uncomfortable, especially for older children who need more space for their nap after lunch. Our tip is to rent a stroller per season, so you receive the stroller in the comfort of your accommodation and use it during your trip. It is much more comfort for the child and still tends to be more affordable for the budget. That’s why StrollerCare is a great option for you! Providing services 24/7 to make your vacations even more magical.
